Emily & Adriano

Emilys family have been family friends for several years, so when she messaged me about her wedding photography it just felt so special!!

The wedding would be up in Wolverhampton so it took a little extra planning as most of the weddings I shoot are in East Anglia and I'm able to easily visit the venue before hand.

I booked a hotel close by, and travelled up the day before. I arrived with plenty of time to go and explore the church and the reception venue.

In the morning I went to Emily's grandparents home where the girls were all getting ready. It was such a calm atmosphere!

We got married in Wolverhampton at Christ Church, Tettenhall Wood. It was the same church my parents had got married in, and ever since I was little girl I’d always dreamt of getting married there one day.

I headed over to the church to meet the boys and await Emilys arrival at the church, the sun was shining, it was just such a beautiful day!

After the ceremony we did a few group photos outside the church. As Emily & Adriano left they were covered in Rice thrown by Adrianos family who were all waiting for them at the gate, there was plenty of cheering and waving too!

Our favourite part of the day was actually when we got in the car to drive to the reception, having just got married. We just looked at each other in slight amazement that we’d actually done it. It was such a wonderful feeling, and then we proceeded to mess around taking silly pictures in the back of this beautiful Rolls-Royce (we’d had upgraded for free very last minute by the car company as the one we’d originally booked had broken down the night before). We then pulled up to the reception, with the bluest sky I’d seen for a while, and the sun beaming, and we walked to a small private clearing with our lovely photographer, and took some beautiful intimate photos, right before we went to meet our guests.

The reception was beautifully relaxed, guests mingled and chatted with one another, the sun was shining and the venue was just perfect!

I had a tiny picture frame with a picture of my dad hidden in my bouquet so that he could walk down with aisle with me. He also had managed to make a ‘Father of the Bride’ speech before he passed away, which we played at the reception. We asked my mum to write our first dance song and perform it for us, which was pretty incredible.

The evening continued with an amazing band, plenty of dancing and a fire pit outside where guests could toast marshmallows.

Seeing photos from this beautiful wedding has brought the whole day flooding back... and THAT is why I LOVE photographs so much!!
